Since we've moved to the "deep south", my sister Sarah has been making an annual trek in February from Maine to visit us wherever we are... we always enjoy the week spent together and she gets a break from the bitter cold for at least a few days! This year, for the first time, she had an additional passenger... her four-month-old little boy, Max (to whom Maddy referred as "Baby Mat" all week). Maddy spent the week adoring and caring for her new cousin, and to our surprise there was no jealousy involved which made the week even sweeter!

She most enjoyed putting the pacifier in his mouth, but also helped with feeding, diaper changes, playing, pushing the stroller... on one occasion, Max was fussy while riding in the car, so she reached out and patted his leg and sang him a song! It made our hearts melt...

Isn't he precious? |

Is it me or does this look like trouble? |

During the week, we got a chance to explore the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells (some more pleasant than others!) Downtown, ate lunch on the rooftop at Charleston Crab House (yum!), and picked up a few gifts and goodies for loved ones... we were even invited to one of the barns where the horses are housed for the carriage tours! Maddy really enjoyed that... it was a great day!
Already looking forward to next February!
